Description of Requirement:

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (CARD) is working to create a national resource of isogenic sets of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias mutated iPSC lines, complimented by foundational phenotypic datasets from differentiated disease-relevant cells derived from these lines. This resource will substantially accelerate the pace of mechanistic discovery regarding how ADRD mutations cause disease. The microplate reader will allow for most of the downstream protein analysis which are necessary in the research of neurodegenerative diseases.

  • SpectraMax ABS Plus UV/Vis Single-Mode Microplate Reader with built-in Cuvette Port.
  • Tunable Monochromator-based Spectral Absorbance (190nm to 1000nm).
  • Integrated Linear Shaking and Temperature Control from ambient + 5C to 45C Power Cable, and USB Cable.
  • Compatible with 96- and 384- well plates.
  • Compatible with Micro-Volume Microplate.
  • Plate must read as fast as five seconds.
  • Measures the optical pathlength of samples.
  • Eliminate filters.
  • Eliminate the need for purchasing and changing out filters with a monochromator-based wavelength selection for visible and UV-visible absorbance.
  • This reader utilizes Molecular Devices' patented Path Check Sensor to measure the depth (optical pathlength) of samples in a microplate. It also allows for the elimination of standard curves.
  • For quick sample checks, the cuvette port is required, and is only available with this model.
  • Verify the accuracy of absorbance measurements with the SpectraTest ABS1. Absorbance Validation Plate, using NIST-traceable standards. Testing can be done in your own lab, on your own schedule.
  • Absorbance validation plate SoftMax Pro GxP Software (4 perpetual licenses).
  • Compact unit measuring at H 20.3 cm x W 30.5 cm x D 41.4 cm.
  • Include 12 months parts and labor warranty.
  • Include 12 months technical support plan.
