Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13—Simplified Acquisition Procedures and at a dollar value less than the simplified acquisition threshold are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6—Competition Requirements.

Single-Sole Source Determination:

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Immunology (LMBI) is seeking the Chromium Next GEM Single Cell Multiome ATAC + Gene Expression to measure single cell gene expression and open chromatin information from the same cell. This technology has been used by LMBI for ongoing projects and in order to maintain the integrity of the data already generated and analyzed, it is imperative that the same technology/reagents are continued to be used. Proceeding this way will maximize the possibility of generating comparable data and accelerate the publication time. As such, the required kits are only manufactured by 10x Genomics.
Background/Description of Requirement

This acquisition is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and the resultant contract award will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-06 dated July 12, 2021.
