Single-Sole Source Determination
The essential characteristics of the reagents that limit the availability to a sole source are the ability to be compatible with the 10x Genomics Chromium Controller instrument operated by the NICHD genomics core facility. Reagents must allow for the preparation of the genomic library and allow for gel bead tagging and microfluidic separation of single cells.

The material or service must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit, and function) with existing systems presently installed. The current equipment is a 10x Genomics Chromium Controller sequencing instrument, and the new item/service must coordinate, connect, or interface with the existing system by integrating into the current instrument and be compatible with the microfluidic pathway allowing single cells to be combined with the included beads and allow generation of the single cell RNA sequence.

These reagents are needed for an ongoing research effort in our lab which requires single cell sequencing of Drosophila cells in collaboration with the NICHD Molecular Genomics Core.

Background/Description of Requirement

Single cell RNA sequencing allows for the identification of mRNA transcripts from single, dissociated, cells.  This information is then used to elucidate the funcition of the tissues from which the cells originated.  In order to process samples, the sequencing platform requires use of certain consumable reagents.  This order is for enough of these consumables in order to run 12 sequencing reactions.

This request if for three of 1000686, two of 1000690, and one of 1000215
