Background/Description of Requirement

NCATS requires the purchase of a TETHERED FAST SCAN CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY (FSCV) READER.  This reader is a carbon fiber sensor-based technology, which does quantitative estimation of dopa neurotransmitter released at the synaptic end of neuronal circuit. Currently we are building a 3D bio-printed model of human neuronal addiction circuitry on multi-well plate for the HEAL (Helping to End Addiction Long-term) initiative where we are developing various assays towards testing the circuitry function as well as physiological integrity and network activity. The qualitative and quantitative estimation of released neurotransmitters would be one of the essential assays for testing the functional dynamics of our addiction circuitry, 2D/3D version, which we are developing for high through put drug screening.

The above-mentioned technology is generally used in invivo live mouse/rat experiment. In order to develop a new method/assay/readout for our unique invitro cultured neuronal circuitry (2D/3D) on multi well format.  This instrument will particularly enable the process of discovery, development and characterization of antibodies as a key therapeutic class for the HEAL (Helping to End Addiction Long-term) Initiative.
