Single-Sole Source Determination
The essential characteristics of the cell culture media that limit the availability to a sole source are that these cell culture media support stem cell pluripotency maintenance and multi-lineage differentiation culture that also show consistent and pure growth and viability from batch to batch. Using the same kind of media in every step and screening is absolutely imperative for the success of our project activity against these same disease states. In order to complete additional screening campaigns, TDB needs to maintain consistency of data and build upon the technical knowledge of cultured in the lab. Using the same kind of media in every step and screening is absolutely imperative for the success of our projects.
Background/Description of Requirement

The National Center for Advancing Translation Sciences (NCATS) is in need of cell culture media that support stem cell pluripotency maintenance and multi-lineage differentiation culture that also show consistent and pure growth and viability from batch to batch. These characteristics are essential in studying the pathology of various diseases and the realm of high-throughput screening, allowing for the discovery and development of novel small molecule probes with activity against these same disease states. In order to complete additional screening campaigns, TDB needs to maintain consistency of data and build upon the technical knowledge of cultured in the lab. Using the same kind of media in every step and screening is absolutely imperative for the success of our projects.
