The NINDS Cell Biology and Biophysics Unit (CBBU) conducts structural studies on the microtubule regulating proteins and their defects in neurodegenerative disorders. CBBU research is aimed at solving the structure of cytoskeleton proteins. Crystallization trials of proteins require screening of hundreds of conditions, by setting drops usually in the 96 wells plate format. The laboratory has the Dragonfly liquid handling robot manufactured by SPT LABTECH which is used for precise, pipetting of crystallization conditions in multi well plates. This robot is a crucial component of carrying out the unit’s research and requires service to ensure continued full function and continuity of NINDS research. The Dragonfly robot was disconnected and moved out the from operating location due to laboratory flood and remediation. Because of relocation, possible water, high humidity, and dust exposure the robot requires re-installation, professional cleaning, and calibration by SPT LABTECH. The purpose of this requirement is to procure a service agreement (re-installation and maintenance) for SPT LABTECH Dragonfly Robots (Serial Number S/N DF-237) operated by the CBBU/NINDS.
