The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the NIH, with a mission to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing, and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions. A significant emphasis of NCATS is the rapid development of effective therapies for patients diagnosed with these conditions. NCATS is directly addressing this problem by discovering new technologies and other approaches that could significantly accelerate the process of developing and deploying solutions that all translational researchers can use. The Waters UPLC-QDA instrument yields qualitative and quantitative information about the purity of the reactions and target molecules synthesized by the NCATS chemists. This instrument is a key tool in the DPI Chemistry identification and purification process, as well as utilized for reaction screening and compound library analysis. This results in the instrument having in high use in the NCATS Chemistry labs making their constant operability a high priority to maintain productivity.
