Background/Description of Requirement

This acquisition is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12—Acquisition of Commercial Items, and the resultant contract award will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2023-02 dated March 16, 2023.

 

 Background Information and Objective:  The purpose of this requisition is to purchase an ultra-purified water system for the preparation of reagents used in cell culture and electron microscopy studies.

 

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Translation Gerontology Branch (TGB) requires the unit to provide ultra-purified water for the use of the preparation of reagents, media for culturing of cells, and preparation of samples and reagents used in cell culture and electron microscopy studies.  The current instrument used for providing the purified water is aging and no longer meets the needs of the lab.

Contract Type:

A Firm Fixed Price type order award not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold is anticipated to be awarded resulting from this requirement.
