The overall project goal is to identify small molecules that bind FIP200 and can be used to direct FIP200 to target Tau aggregates for autophagic elimination. The project will identify small molecules that bind the recombinant FIP200 protein using a high-throughput small molecule screening assay. However, optimal conditions need to be determined to ensure that the recombinant FIP200 domain will bind small molecule ligands prior to initiating this screen.
