Single-Sole Source Determination
The Koretsky lab requires these consumables to perform RNASeq procedures for experimental studies. Items are to be shipped on a pre-determined schedule. 10X Genomics is the only manufacturer of acceptable item that can be used in the sequencing equipment. GSS, whose price will be $800 more, can be used as a distributor if required to use due to items being on FSS Contract No. GS-07F-5934R. Attached is a POTS order showing the main items have been purchased recently from 10X Genomics and the pricing is reasonable. Only due to an increase in quantity, makes the order require supporting documentation.
Background/Description of Requirement

Our research has identified groups of brain cells that respond to injury. Some of the cells may be contributing to the brain’s ability to adapt and help with recovery after the injury. We propose to identify the brain cells that communicate with and may drive those changes. This requires more single nucleus RNA sequencing of additional brain regions. The results from these experiments will be combined and compared to previous experiments. We will use the same kits, core facilities and bioinformatics analysis to compare directly new results to previous findings.
