This system must be capable of performing real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The system must be able to amplify DNA samples in a quantitative manner.. The system must be capable of quantitative DNA amplification using fluorescence detection. The minimum acceptable standards are a system capable of quantitative DNA amplification using SYBRGreen fluorescence detection
Background/Description of Requirement

The NINDS Viral Production Core Facility uses a real time QPCR machine for determining the titer of every viral vector produced by the facility. The current real time QPCR machine, a Cepheid Smart Cycler, is no longer in production and no longer being supported by Cepheid. The consumables for the Smart Cycler (PCR tubes) are specific to the Smart Cycler and no longer available. In order for the Core Facility to be able to determine the titer of the viral vectors produced, a new real time QPCR machine needs to be acquired.
