Single-Sole Source Determination
The lab wishes to acquire a highly precise and accurate in-vivo manipulator for motorized assistance with in-vivo survival surgeries. This will minimize damage to brain tissue when implanting optic fibers and Grin lenses for in-vivo imaging experiments, and will dramatically increase the accuracy of probe placement. The in-vivo manipulator must be compatible with stereotaxic frame previously purchase by the lab (Kopf stereotaxic frame) and must be compatible with Inscopix probe holders.

Background/Description of Requirement

The main goals of the LCSMS are to investigate the neural mechanisms and circuits underlying neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. Accordingly, in-vivo imaging experiments (both for fiber photometry and calcium imaging) are an integral part of this goal. As part of in-vivo imaging experiments, cannulae, fibers and GRIN lenses need to be implanted in the brain. The acquisition of an in-vivo manipulator will dramatically improve the accuracy and precision of these implants.
