The main goals of the LCSMS are to investigate the neural mechanisms and circuits underlying neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. Accordingly, in-vivo imaging experiments (both for fiber photometry and calcium imaging) are an integral part of this goal. As part of in-vivo imaging experiments, cannulae, fibers and GRIN lenses need to be implanted in the brain. The acquisition of an in-vivo manipulator will dramatically improve the accuracy and precision of these implants.
