The (CBBU)/NINDS revied the options for purchasing benchtop refrigerated centrifuge package by:
- online research (Beckman, Eppendorf and ThermoFisher)
https://www.beckman.com/centrifuges/general-purpose
https://online-shop.eppendorf.com/OC-en/Centrifugation-44533.html#goto-Centrifugation-WebPMain-44533
https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/life-science/lab-equipment/lab-centrifuges/benchtop-centrifuges/models.html)
- requesting information from vendor (Beckman, Eppendorf and ThermoFisher- documents attached)
- contacting NIH laboratories using similar centrifuges
The overall conclusion of listed approaches is that the laboratory wants to purchase the benchtop refrigerated centrifuges manufactured by Beckman because of the salient characteristic of the centrifuge (small footprint and fast cooling mode) and rotors/adapters selection acquired for the laboratory needs.
Background/Description of Requirement

The CBBU/NINDS is looking to buy a bundle of  two benchtop centrifuges with rotors for preparation of DNAs and proteins samples applied in laboratory experiments. The laboratory has optimized protocols, utilizing similar centrifuges and rotors, which require replacement due to decorating and failing during experiments. The same experimental parameters are essential for maintaining the quality of prepared samples.
