The INSS lab have investigated the neuropathological features of COVID-19 in the brain of patients who died from COVID-19. MRI images showed abnormal patches in some brain regions. Immunolabeling with specific antibodies in these regions revealed evidence of microcerebrovascular damage in some areas and evidence of platelet aggregation forming clots in others. The INSS lab expects this pathology of COVID-19 to be extensively and reliably studied in 3D imaged brain samples. The data size is 5-15TB per sample, and a desktop with a hard drive of 15TB is required to use the image analysis software smoothly. The high-spec "precision 7920 tower Workstation " allows INSS laboratories to efficiently process and analyze 3D images.
