The incubator shaker will need to have added humidity, CO2 level regulated at 5% where temperature can be maintained exactly at 37C. The incubator also needs to hold a minimum of six of the 4 liter beveled culture flasks since the HEK cells will need to be grown in large batches for protein production. The flasks will need to be shaken at high speed (200rpm) for long periods of time (up to 48 or 72 hours at a time). We have a stack of Multitron shakers already in the lab and this new incubator will have to be stacked on top of the existing unit due to space limitation. Therefore, we cannot purchase any other model or units from another manufacturer.
