Rationale/ Salient Characteristics
Service Maintenance for Zeiss LSM 510 Confocal Microscope for a year from December 5, 2022 to December 4, 2023 with serial number 1A-002360. Maintenance need to include replacement of failed compenent parts as determined by the manufacturer at no additional cost to the customer. The Zeiss LSM 510 Confocal system needs to be maintained to remain functional to the lab. At least one preventive maintenance visit need to be done to include cleaning, inspection and alignment of the instrument to ensure optimal operating performance. The computer upgrades will allow the microscope to be compatible for current windows system.
Single-Sole Source Determination
The purpose of this acquisition is to acquire a year’s service contract. The microscope need to be regularly maintained in order for
the microscope to perform our experiments studying retinal physiology. Previous orders of service contract can be found in POTS
Order, 20-002371 and 21-001702, and 22-003200. The existing Government owned item of microscope need to be maintained,
coordinated, connected, and interface with manufacture approved and optimal supplies to avoid the risk of failure. If incorrect
maintenance was obtained or technician is not certified by the manufacturer, failure may risk major delays or obstruction to NINDS
research. Market research finds that Carl Zeiss is a reliable vendor with reputable maintenance history.

Interested parties may identify in writing their interest and capability in response to this requirement. Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties’ bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. All offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov.

All responses must be received by closing date and must reference the announcement. Responses may be submitted electronically to the attention of the contract specialist. Fax responses will not be accepted.
