Sony cell sorter LE-SH800G is an essential research tool of the NINDS Molecular Nerobiology Section, Ngai lab. Proper mantainace of the machine and timely and efficient service for the machine and associated software is critical for the research conducted in this lab.
Single-Sole Source Determination
This service contract is limited to a sole source because it is for a specific cell sorter with specific technical and expertise requirements. Sony is the Sole Source for parts and service on these devices. Their employees have the requisite training to provide specialized service on this equipment. They also own the proprietary software that enables them to provide the required support on these devices. Therefore, there is no other source which fulfills the requirements of this contract.
Background/Description of Requirement

The Sony cell sorter LE-SH00G is an advanced cell sorter in the NINDS Molecular Neurobiology Section, Ngai lab. It requires a service contract to assure it remains in good function.

Interested parties may identify in writing their interest and capability in response to this requirement. Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties’ bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. All offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov.

All responses must be received by closing date and must reference the announcement. Responses may be submitted electronically to the attention of the contract specialist. Fax responses will not be accepted.

All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
