A major goal of the research performed by the lab is to understand communication between the neocortex and cerebellum while animals learn novel behavioral skills over weeks. The lab will measure activity in both cortex and cerebellum using a custom dual-site two-photon microscope, across multiple genetically defined populations using dual-wavelength imaging. To flexibly position the microscope heads at different brain regions, a motorized translation stages are needed.
The requirement is for 2 long-travel high-load motorized stages, 1 small-format motorized stage plus required accessories.
Salient characteristics of each stages are as descibed below:

Travel (minimum) | 25mm | 75mm |
Loaded accuracy (max) | 24um | 13um |
Repeatability (max) | <1um | <3um |
Max centered load (must be at least this high) | 30N | 1000N |
Max cantilever load (must be at least this high) | 125Ncm | 3000Ncm |
