- Background Information and Objective:
The Membrane Transport Biophysics Section (MTBS) performs experiments examining the function of lysosomes from acidification and ion fluxes to cell metabolism and amino acid equilibrium. Lysosomes play a key role in the metabolism of the cell and have been implicated in numerous lysosomal storage disorders as well as broader systemic diseases. The MTBS requires this Equipment to image protein dynamics at the single molecule level. The MTBS will use the Equipment to stimulate fluorophores during microscope imaging.

- Other Considerations:
All Equipment shall be warranted to be free from material or workmanship defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery and acceptance by the Government. All transportation, insurance and shipping charges associated with warranty service and repairs of the Equipment shall be paid by the Contractor, and all efforts will be made to minimize downtime of Equipment operation due to malfunction. Repaired or replacement Equipment parts shall be warranted for one (1) year from the date of repair or delivery and acceptance.
Interested parties may identify in writing their interest and capability in response to this requirement. Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties’ bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. All offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov.
