The Laboratory of Neuropsychology (LN) in the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) investigates higher brain functions such as object recognition and reward-guided learning. The goal of this project is to investigate relationships between brain areas and behavior. This work will be used to understand the complex neural circuitry that primates use for object recognition. Such understanding is part of the mission of the NIMH. We already bought two ripple systems two years ago, and now the system needs a new connector to record and stimulate.
Ripple connctors listed herein is available from only one source, and competition is precluded for the reasons indicated below. There are no substitutes available.
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Laboratory of Neuropsychology investigates fundamental brain functions such as visual object recognition. We seek to understand the circuitry responsible for visual processing. By expanding and refining genetic techniques first used in rodents, our group has developed new tools for nonhuman primates. This purchase will allow us to apply these new optogenetic tools. It will lead to a deeper understanding of the neural circuitry underlying visual processing and provide new insights relevant to psychological health and disorders.
