The 2023 NIDA International Forum will be held as a virtual meeting, due to U.S. government guidelines and regulations regarding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 community levels and federal in-person meetings, as well as to mitigate risks and losses from the potential last-minute cancellation of an in-person event. The virtual International Forum will be held June 8–9, 2023, and will feature sessions on topics such as amphetamine-type stimulants, international research and training needs, substance use disorders and rural health, and international approaches to cannabis regulation, as well as a workshop on preparing one’s research for publication. The planning committee is developing an agenda and poster session to fit a virtual schedule best suited for our international audience and more information on the agenda and registration dates will be announced soon.

In light of this change to a virtual format, the poster abstract submission and travel award application period has been extended; the new deadline is February 20, 2023. Learn more and submit your abstract. All accepted posters will be continuously displayed in the International Forum’s virtual poster session gallery, June 8–15, 2023.

Forum abstract applicants still can apply for a travel award to attend the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) Annual Scientific Meeting in person on June 17–21 in Denver, Colorado, United States. The CPDD annual meeting will be held in person and has a separate process for abstract submission, travel award, and registration.
