Additional Information

This workshop, co-sponsored by NIDA and ORNL, will discuss community submitted challenge problems and data sets and plan implementation of solutions for delivery at the annual NIDA and NIAAA Genetics Meeting that will be held in January 2020 and beyond. We hope to engage data analysis experts in the interpretation of genetic and genomic studies, facilitate interpretation and extrapolation of results through multi-species analysis, and make the best use of recent large data sets and advances in data analysis. The aim of this workshop is to create services that are interconnected and allow people to integrate data across human and model organism genetics, genomics, and epigenetic studies of addiction with the ultimate goal of understanding addiction by:

  1. Structuring, sharing, and exposing data from addiction genetics and genome studies
  2. Structuring software to make it modular and interoperable for application of different algorithms
  3. Developing data models that aggregate data and map studies onto each other
  4. Developing algorithms for research questions and integrative analysis across different data
