About the Collaboration:
Since 2002, NIDA and Scholastic Inc. partnered to create Heads Up: Real News About Drugs and Your Body. This science-based education series provided teachers and students with innovative resources about the effects of drugs, drug use, and addiction on the brain and body. Teen articles, classroom lessons, and student worksheets were created and distributed every school year through Scholastic’s in-school magazines, as well as Heads Up websites. Heads Up also produced poster/teaching guides, as well as online interactives. Annual compilations of student articles and teacher lesson plans, as well as posters, some with teaching guides, and some in Spanish, are available for on our archives site free of charge.
