Evan Wood

Dr. Wood, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of AIDS, at the University of British Columbia, is an internal medicine physician and epidemiologist. He has extensive research experience in the area of clinical epidemiology, especially in evaluating the treatment of HIV/AIDS, and epidemiologic study design, especially among drug-using populations.

Dr. Wood is the Founding Director of the Urban Health Research Initiative (UHRI) at the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. UHRI consists of several prospective epidemiologic studies, including the Vancouver Injection Drug Users Study funded by CIHR and US National Institutes of Health (NIH), the At-Risk Youth Study funded by CIHR and the NIH, the AIDS Care Cohort to Evaluate access to Survival Services funded by CIHR and the NIH, and the Scientific Evaluation of Supervised Injecting funded by CIHR.
