This requirement is restricted to MATLAB software. While MATLAB was developed by The MathWorks, Inc., there may be other distributors capable of providing MATLAB software licenses and required toolboxes. MATLAB software licenses and toolboxes will ensure compatibility with existing algorithms in the field of research already coded to run under MATLAB, and not available for other related packages. Furthermore, the acquisition of MATLAB software licenses and toolboxes would minimize the disruption of research services across the lab, and staff would not require additional training.

Continuation of these software and toolbox licenses allows uninterrupted access to MATLAB. Renewal of these software licenses and associated toolboxes is critical to the continuation of research within the MRI Section. It is for these reasons, this requirement is restricted to MATLAB brand-name licenses.
Background/Description of Requirement

MATLAB has been identified as the ideal package for performing simulations and data analysis due to the availability of numerous signal processing algorithms in this field of research already coded to run under MATLAB, which is not available through other related packages such as Mathematica. This requisition is for the purchase of two designated-computer MATLAB licenses along with all required toolboxes to run recently-acquired high-performance Dell Precision T7920 workstations. These licenses will permit fellows to perform the simulations and data fitting calculations necessary for their research in a time-efficient manner.

Description: The MATLAB designated computer software licenses for Windows; The Mathworks, Inc.; part numbers MLI-V2020A (base license), VPI-2020A (computer vision toolbox), CFI-V2020A (curve fitting toolbox), NNI-V2020A (deep learning toolbox), ETI-V2020A (econometrics toolbox), IPI-V2020A (image processing toolbox), OPI-V2020A (optimization toolbox) and STI-V2020A (statistics and machine learning toolbox.

Salient characteristics: Must run existing MATLAB codes for solving inverse Laplace transform problems, non-local means filtering and brain image segmentation on a Windows 10 platform; Must include all necessary software toolboxes to support curve fitting, image processing, optimization, statistics and machine learning algorithms; and Each license must permit execution and modification of existing and newly-written codes by any user on a single, designated computer. One (1) year license required. Quantity: Two (2).
