Single-Sole Source Determination
The National Institute of Mental Health, Section on Developmental Neurogenomics, requests to generate assays of ATAC-Seq using the ATAC-Seq kits from Active Motif. The assay of the transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing (ATAC-Seq) is a popular method for determining chromatin accessibility across the genome. By sequencing regions of open chromatin, ATAC-Seq can help us uncover how chromatin packaging and other factors affect gene expression. To complete this objective and to further increase our sample size, we must ensure that our ATAC-Seq kits are purchased from the same manufacturer for continuity of our current study. The continuity is absolutely essential for the validity of our work and has to be in place for us to address the key scientific questions for this project. Using a different vendor would cause irreparable harm to our ongoing experiments and research. In conclusion, we require the same vendor and assays in order to compare the data that has been previously collected thus far in our earlier assays from Active Motif.
Background/Description of Requirement

The Human Genetics Branch, Section on Developmental Neurogenomics conducts a series of studies that aim to better understand the neurobiology of sex Chromosome Aneuploidies as important yet understudied neurogenetic disorders in their own right and provides insight into the biology of sex-difference, genetic regulation of brain organization, and mechanisms of genetic risk of common psychiatric syndromes. Over the past two years, we have performed the assays of ATAC-Seq using the ATAC-Seq kits and are currently in need to purchase an additional 12 ATAC-Seq kits for assays. This is considered a follow-on acquisition to POTS #23-002783/PO# 7054439 from February 17, 2023.
