Single-Sole Source Determination
The Characterization of Disease Phenotype in NGY1 Mutant Cortical Glutamatergic Neurons study is a continuation of a work completed during the past two years. This work involved neurons developed by BrainXell that are derived from patient derived iPSCs with specific disease phenotypes. To maintain the consistency of data that has been collected over the past two years in this project, the current requirement must also be performed using neurons developed by BrainXell. Therefore, to ensure the continuity of science, the required service is available from only BrainXell and no substitutes are available.
Background/Description of Requirement

This notice of proposed contract action is posted in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(2). A copy of the solicitation may be obtained from the contact point.

The Therapeutic Development Branch (TDB) of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires exploratory studies for characterization of disease phenotype in NGY1 mutant cortical glutamatergic neurons. The contractor will undertake a series of experiments utilizing iPSCderived neurons generated from patients baring an NGY1 mutation. The goal will be to elucidate possible disease phenotypes and provide insight into the pathophysiology as it exists in cortical glutamatergic neurons. Experiments will be conducted on neurons from three NGY1 lines.
