12. Behavior acquisition settings: Behavior video and fluorescence data can be set in the same software interface for simultaneous acquisition. The behavioral video acquisition can support multiple behavioral cameras to record simultaneously, and the video frame rate (30-150FPS optional) and resolution (1920x1080 multiple optional) can be set directly.
13. Behavioral analysis area settings: Behavioral acquisition supports setting specific Area areas for behavioral analysis and simultaneously setting 9 ROI areas and naming them, 3 kinds of ROI drawing tools: circle, square, polygon, can be set when the animal enters a ROI area for automatic marking, and later can analyze behavioral data on time, location and other parameters.
14. Interaction mode: The acquisition stage can output TTL signal to trigger external devices when the fluorescence signal is greater than the set Δ f/f threshold or when the animal enters a certain ROI area, and parameters such as pulse width frequency (0-500Hz) of the output TTL signal, the delay and duration time can be set, and the TTL signal output can be tested directly.
15. Acquisition window: Different channel data are directly displayed on the window for easy direct identification and comparison; different channels of fluorescence data and different wavelengths of fluorescence data axes can be adjusted individually.
Statement of Need and Purpose:
This requirement aims to procure Tricolor multichannel fiber photometry system to allow researchers to detect the activity of neurons and behavior of neuronal populations in the neural circuit study. This requirement aims to procure tricolor multichannel fiber photometry system to enable researchers to take advantage of optogenetics, to explore detailed insight into the activity and behavior of neuronal populations. This technique stimulates neurons with light and measures fluorescence signals that correspond to calcium dynamics by detecting changes in the fluorescence intensity from a genetically encoded calcium indicator (GECI), calcium dynamics related to activities and patterns in neural circuits can be measured in real time. The technique can help in developing treatments for neurological diseases and brain-related traumatic injuries. Its use of light offers many advantages over other methods of neuromodulation, including a temporal resolution on the order of milliseconds, closely matching natural neuronal activity; and the stimulation of multiple neurons sets independently using different wavelengths.
Background and Objectives:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation’s leading medical research agency and the primary Federal agency whose mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge. The mission of the NIH also includes enhancing health, lengthening life, reducing illness and disability, conducting, supporting, and making medical discoveries that improves and saves people’s health and lives.
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) SNC group routinely uses different manipulations to modulate neuronal activities and behaviors of subpopulations to observe neural terminal construction between the presynaptic and postsynaptic connections, these observations will allow the researchers to study the neural circuits, neuronal synaptic transmission or excitability of target neurons in brain regions.
