- Statement of Need and Purpose:
The Synapse and Neural Circuits Section (SNCS) of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) requires a telemetry system capable of recording dynamic, electrophysiology signals in mice during sleep, general anesthesia, and wake stages. The mouse wireless electrophysiology monitoring system is needed to conduct more in-depth research studies of the GABAergic mechanism of general anesthetics driven by the Shisa7 protein.
- Background Information and Objective:
The wireless electrophysiology monitoring system will be used in studies and experiments on mice focused on the novel protein Shisa7, which has been found to affect GABAAR trafficking and which has a strong correlation with the pharmacology general anesthetics such as propofol, etomidate, and isoflurane and others widely used in clinical surgery.

6. Quantity:
As indicated in the “Salient Specifications/Characteristics” section above.
7. Delivery Terms:
The Contractor shall deliver all above described Equipment within thirty (30) days after receipt of order. The Equipment shall be delivered to: National Institutes of Health, 35 Convent Drive, Building 35A, Room 3C-1000, Bethesda, Maryland 20892. D Delivery must must be (freight on board) (F.O.B.) destination, including inside delivery.
Installation and setup of the Equipment shall take place within two (2) weeks after delivery and acceptance and be performed remotely by ViewPoint Life Sciences or the wireless electrophysiology monitoring system manufacturer in coordination with Dr. Wei Lu.
Remote training sessions shall take place within one (1) week after installation and setup. The Contractor shall coordinate training sessions with Dr. Wei Lu.
8. Other Considerations:
The Contractor shall warrant tall Equipment against material or workmanship defects for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of installation. All service and repairs required within this warranty period shall be performed by certified, trained technicians of ViewPoint Life Sciences or the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Technicians shall have the ability to troubleshoot Equipment malfunctions remotely. diagnose the systems on site via remote access. The Contractor shall provide without delay any required replacement parts for the Equipment during warranty period.
Interested parties may identify in writing their interest and capability in response to this requirement. Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties’ bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. All offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov.
