1. Statement of Need and Purpose:
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke’s (NINDS) Cell Biology and Biophysics Section (CBBU) requires two (2) microscope imaging computer workstations capable of controlling state-of-the-art microscope hardware as well as high-speed, multi-color, digital imaging of two channels simultaneously.
2. Background Information and Objective:
The CBBU investigates microtubules and microtubule-related proteins. This requires the ability to rapidly and simultaneously image two independent channels. The CBBU’s existing microscope imaging computer workstations are incapable of high-speed, multi-color, digital imaging of 2 channels simultaneously and must be upgraded to support high throughput computing necessary to conduct microtubule investigation.
