Submit Your Grant Application

NIDA and NIH grant applications—including applications in response to the NIDA International Program Announcement—must be submitted electronically. Electronic submission involves two separate systems working together. Allow a minimum of eight weeks to complete the electronic submission registration process.

eRA Commons is the NIH electronic system for grants administration. Principal investigators and their institutions must be registered in the eRA Commons before submitting a grant application. At this site:

  • Applicants can access the status of their applications.
  • Grantees can access the status of their awards, submit reports, and make requests electronically.

Grants.gov is the U.S. government site where grant applications are submitted to a number of federal funding agencies, including NIDA and NIH.
