What We Do:
The NIDA data science workgroup facilitates the general coordination of data science activities across NIDA and provides a forum for all NIDA staff to exchange ideas, receive updates, and develop data science research initiatives. Our mission is to inform NIDA’s Strategic Plan in data science and to develop NIDA’s portfolio of data science research relevant to substance use disorders and addiction.
Major Goals:
- Coordinate data science activities across NIDA
- Provide a forum for all NIDA staff to exchange ideas, receive updates, and develop data science research initiatives
- Support avenues of data science research via innovative program announcements, requests for applications, changes in policy, and knowledge dissemination
- Facilitate communication of NIH policies related to data science across NIDA
- Sponsor meetings, seminars, and speakers relevant to data science
